Damascus Steel Information

The unique and highly technical proces of delivering high quality Damascus steel makes this hand forged tomahawk a screaming deal. Damascus steel is characterized by thin lines in the steel of the axe head. The steel is folded many times during the lengthy forging. This particular head has 512 layers folded inside the iron steel. Our Damascus process is termed "Modern Damascus" or "billet welding" technique makes for a beautiful show quality tomahawk head.

Damascus as a Throwing Tomahawk

We do not recommend using this Damascus steel tomahawk head for throwing. Early product testing has proven that the steel is too soft to use for traditional splitting, chopping, or throwing. It does stand up to typical chopping but due to the soft nature of the steel it will not hold it's edge for very long...

*Note 1: The tomahawk head is unsecured from the handle. This is done on purpose for two reasons. The first being that our experience is that a pinned or otherwise secured head breaks the handle easier. The second is for your being able to customize and interchange handles to your liking.
